CLUBS IN CAMPUS NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME, UNIVERSITY OF KERALA

National service Scheme is a student centred programme and it is complementary to education. It is a noble experiment in academic extension. It includes the spirit of voluntary work among students and teachers through sustained community interaction. It brings our academic institution closer to the society. It is a link between the campus and community, the college and village, knowledge and action. The overall aim of NSS is the Personality Development of students through community service. National Service Scheme, a centrally sponsored scheme, was launched in 1969, the Birth Centenary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Snehacharya Institute of Management & Technology, Karuvatta has a volunteer strength of 100 in our unit. These volunteers led by Mrs. Sajitha.S.R, programme Co-ordinator. NSS is a value based volunteer programme, which has always remained close to the living issues affecting the society. NSS volunteers have always come into the forefront to extend voluntary service during natural calamities like Drought, Flood, Cyclone, Earthquake and Tsunami.
